CEREC Crowns
When a tooth sustains structural damage, either from a fracture, break, or large area of decay, a crown can restore your tooth’s form, function, and beauty. A crown, often called a cap, fits over the entire tooth and allows you to maintain your natural tooth root. Because they’re made from porcelain, traditional crowns require two visits and are sent to a laboratory for fabrication.
With CEREC, the leader in CAD/CAM technology for chairside restorations, Dr. Levenson can design, mill, and place a custom crown in a single visit. Made from durable, aesthetic materials, CEREC crowns have all the same benefits of traditional lab-made crowns without the inconvenience. Additionally, because they’re created in our office, results are more predictable. Dr. Levenson controls the color, shape, and size of your CEREC crown, and he can even add grooves and contours for improved texture, appearance, and function.

When you visit us for your CEREC crown, we’ll take digital photos and impressions of the prepared tooth. The information is transferred digitally to the CEREC machine, where, with the aid of 3D imaging technology, Dr. Levenson precisely designs your restoration. With the CEREC machine, we can also fabricate inlays and onlays. In about an hour, the milling unit creates your custom crown according to the doctor’s exact specifications.
CEREC saves our patients time and delivers highly-satisfactory results. Not all instances are right for CEREC crowns. Dr. Levenson will evaluate your case to determine the right solution for your smile.
Fillings (inlays/onlays)
|

1. After decay and old filling material is removed...

3. Depending on severity, the whole procedure will last between one and two hours.

Crowns
|

1. For more heavily compromised teeth, a traditional treatment has been a crown restoration, which can take several separate appointments.
|

2. Using the CEREC method, crown restoration is completed in a single appointment. No impression, no temporary crowns - no need for a second injection.
|

3. A treatment time of one to two hours is normal.
