Going the Extra Mile
 Dr. Stanley Levenson
Dr. Levenson earned his DMD degree in 1985 from University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. His postgraduate work as a general practice resident at Worcester Memorial Hospital gave him an excellent in-depth education regarding the interrelationships between dental health and general health. In 1987, Dr. Levenson began his private practice, acquiring an existing practice that had served Central Massachusetts families since 1946.
As part of Dr. Levenson's focused commitment to stay informed about the latest industry advances, he has taken hundreds of hours of continuing education with special interest in cosmetic dentistry training. He has completed numerous hands-on courses at the renowned Pacific Aesthetic Continuum in San Francisco, as well as The Hornbrook Group Center for Advanced Clinical Education. He is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry,and a Fellow in the Academy of Comprehensive Esthetics, an award achieved by fewer than one hundred dentists in the entire country.
As part of his commitment to stay current with issues in the dental industry, Dr. Levenson is a member of the Massachusetts Dental Society, the Worcester District Dental Society, and the Academy of Sports Dentistry. Additionally, he serves as the team dentist for the Worcester Sharks hockey team and the Worcester Tornadoes baseball team. He also sits on the Board of Health for the city of Worcester.
Dr. Levenson has become the official dentist for Karon Shea Model Management.
A strong proponent of higher education, Dr. Shih earned her BA in chemistry and DDS at California State, then she continued her education, earning and MS in oral biology at Baylor University in Waco. A certificate in periodontics from Baylor in Dallas and a DMSc from Harvard followed. Dr. Shih has practiced dentistry since 1987, and she has many academic appointments and awards in her repertoire. As the resident Periodontist at Dr. Levenson's practice, Dr. Shih brings the highest standards in patient care and clinical expertise to our patients.
The American Dental Association recognizes periodontics as one of the nine dental specialties. By definition, periodontics deals with prevention, diagnosis, and treatment if conditions affecting tissues that support teeth (ie: gums and bone). As a periodontist, Dr. Shih can provide periodontal disease therapy, oral surgery, bone and soft tissue grafts, and dental implant placement. Periodontal techniques like a gum lift or soft tissue grafts can cosmetically enhance smiles. Dr. Shih has performed periodontal procedures on patients of all ages, and she understands the unique needs of children, adults, and seniors.
In addition to regularly attending continuing education courses and seminars, Dr. Shih holds membership in the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Periodontology, the Massachusetts Dental Society, the Metropolitan District Dental Society, the West Metropolitan Dental Society, the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and she is a peer reviewer for the Journal of Periodontology.
